Your first real job,
before your first real job

Every junior role wants experience. Meridian gives you a realistic one: a 12-week simulated job with a manager who assigns real work, reviews it, and sends it back when it isn't good enough. The company and everyone you work with are AI characters.

4 roles: Data Analyst · Software Engineer · Associate Product Manager · Growth Analyst

How it works

01Pick your role

Choose Data Analyst, Software Engineer, Associate Product Manager, or Growth Analyst. Each role has its own company, manager, team, curriculum, and deliverables.

02You join the team

Sign up and you're the new junior hire, in a Slack-style workspace with your manager, engineer, peer, and real stakeholders. Everything is role-specific.

03You do the actual work

Download real datasets, specs, and repos. Audit, query, code, write specs, or analyse campaigns. Tasks are auto-graded, and wrong answers come back with feedback.

04You ship a project

Twelve weeks, major deliverables, a final presentation, then a three-round, 35-question assessment with an AI hiring manager from outside your simulated company.

Choose your track

Data Analyst

SQL, data quality, root-cause analysis, marketing & margin analytics, KPI dashboards.

Meridian Retail Group · manager Sofia Marchetti
Software Engineer

API design, test-driven development, code review, system architecture, shipping to production.

Nexus Tech · engineering manager Alex Chen
Associate Product Manager

An onboarding PRD, a ten-request roadmap decision, and a failed launch that needs a pivot.

Pulse · group product manager Marcus Chen
Growth Analyst

A broken attribution audit, a borderline landing-page test, and a 25% budget cut.

Bloom & Co · head of growth Nadia Hassan

It ends with an interview

Day 60. A simulated hiring manager (an AI character) who does not work at your simulated company has read your twelve weeks and wants to talk about them. Three rounds and thirty-five questions, the way a graduate assessment day actually runs: a numerical reasoning test, a technical round, then someone asking about your work. On the Data Analyst track that is Ruth Kelleher, Head of Analytics at Cavendish & Roe. Every track has its own.

ROUND 1
Aptitude
15 questions, marked on the number

"Store A did 4,200 last month and Store B did 3,150. What is A as a percentage above B?"

"Return rate went from 4% to 5%. A stakeholder says that is a 1% rise. What is the actual percentage increase?"

"A report takes 3 hours and runs weekly. You automate it in 20 hours. How many weeks until that pays for itself?"

ROUND 2
Technical
10 questions, checked against the real data

"Open the warehouse you have been working in and tell me how many rows are in the returns table."

"Now one with a join in it: how many distinct orders have at least one return against them?"

Every answer is computed from the same database you downloaded on day one, so there is nothing to look up and nothing to guess. Not timed, and you can stop and come back.
ROUND 3
The interview
10 questions about your own twelve weeks

"Talk me through one piece of work end to end. What were you asked for, and what did you actually do?"

"Tell me about something that came back to you. What did you change?"

"What do you do when your work says one thing and someone senior says another? Did that come up?"

"You would be joining as a junior. Why are you worth taking a chance on?"

She has your record, so there is nothing to revise for.

Which deliverables were accepted, which came back, where you went quiet. The questions are about that. You cannot cram for it and you cannot bluff it.

The certificate comes from here, not from the calendar.

Finishing sixty days is not enough on its own, and neither round carries you: a flawless conversation with the written rounds failed does not pass. If you are turned down she names what was missing and you can sit it again.

It is also the rehearsal.

Every question is one a real interviewer asks a junior. The first time you answer "tell me about something you got wrong" should not be when the job is on the line.

Questions

Is this a course?

No. There are no videos and no lessons. It's a job: you get assigned work, you do it with real (simulated) data, and your manager reviews it. You learn the way you would in a real first role.

What skills does it cover?

Depends on your role. Data Analyst covers SQL, analytics, and stakeholder communication. Software Engineer covers API design, TDD, and architecture. Associate Product Manager covers discovery, scoping, prioritisation, and pivots. Growth Analyst covers attribution, experiments, cohorts, and budget decisions.

Are the people real?

No. Meridian is a simulation. Your manager, teammates, stakeholders and the final-interview hiring manager are AI characters, and the company is fictional. The work and the feedback are designed to be realistic.

What do I need?

A laptop. You download role-specific data and specs from inside the app; everything else happens in the workspace chat.

Can I put this on my CV?

Yes. Passing the final interview issues a certificate with a public verification link. More importantly you'll have a real project you can talk through end to end, and you'll have already been asked about it once.

What is the final interview?

Three rounds on day 60, run by an AI hiring manager from outside your simulated company. It is practice, not a real job interview. Fifteen numerical reasoning questions, ten technical questions checked against the actual data you have been working in, then ten questions about your twelve weeks: a piece of work start to finish, something that came back to you, how you'd check a result, what you do when you disagree with someone senior. It is the certificate's gate, so finishing the arc alone doesn't issue one, and neither round carries you on its own. If you're turned down you're told exactly what was missing, and you can sit it again.

Can my friends do it too?

Yes. Each user gets their own isolated simulation. You can all sign up with the same link and each get a personalised experience with different tasks, characters, and milestones.
